Road Work
Cleveland County District 1 works closely with Oklahoma City, City of Moore and City of Norman to provide much-needed maintainance and construction of the county highway system. However, since 98% of District 1 is within a municipality, Cleveland County does not get to count those roads for funding from the fuel tax and license tag fees. Rod Cleveland has to be very frugal and ask his crew to be very efficient in their work. District 1 will provide the equipment and the labor while the municipalities provide the material.
Oklahoma City has provide funding for materials in Rod Cleveland’s 2nd year in office in the amount of $250,000 and after six years it has grown to over one million dollars. District 1 has proven to Oklahoma City, Norman and Moore that any dollar of road work spent through District one stretch many times over.
Oklahoma City has approved funding material for road improvements to SE 149th. City of Norman asphalt crew works closely with Cleveland County. SE 149th is the city limit boundary between Norman and Oklahoma City. Overlay of 1″ Super Pave asphalt on the two mile stretch from Sooner Road to Midwest Blvd.
