Natural Disasters

Cleveland County District 1 is a “First Responder.”  Although not formally recognized, County crews are first on the scene to all natural disasters.  Snow storms, wild fires, flash flooding and tornadoes county crews are the first to respond helping get the road way cleared for emergency vehicles, setting out road closed signs or cutting fire breaks.

Cleveland County District 1 has professionally trained volunteer fire fighters and crew trained in CPR and general first aid.  We are most proud of our training in wild-fire safety training and certification in using bull-dozers, loaders and graders in creating fire breaks and temporary paths for fire fighter’s brush pumpers.  Cleveland County District 1 also have several water tankers that provide much-needed water for the rural fire fighters.

Cleveland County crews have also built several water tankers and speciality vehicles for several Cleveland County Rural Fire Departments.
