Education

The County’s role is education has many roles direct and indirect.  The most direct roles are collecting and disbursing the ad valorem (property tax) revenue to each public school district entity by the County Treasure.  The County Clerk receives the public school district’s estimate of needs (budget) and the County Excise Board approves it.  

County Commissioners provide assistance to public school districts and the technology centers in providing labor and or equipment from the county highway districts, assist in school finance bonding for capital expenses, and support overall education issues public and private of the county.
