This bill was presented by Representative Sanders that has been an advocate for County Transportation funding.
This bill is part of the budget deal for FY’16. It caps the apportionment from the Motor Vehicle Tax and Licensing fees to the FY’15 amount. County roads, counties and municipalities receive a monthly apportionment. This monthly apportionment is placed into the maintenance account that County Commissioners use to pay labor, buy equipment and maintain county roads. Commissioners do have special funding accounts that are for large reconstruction road jobs and constructing bridges.
