Friday, March 7, 2014, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the April 1, 2014Election, the Cleveland County Election Board announced today. In addition to the City of Norman Municipal Election, two special elections are scheduled for April 1, 2014: the City of Norman Special Election for the Public Safety Sales Tax and a Canadian Valley Technology Center Special Election. Fifty precincts will be voting on April 1, 2014.

Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available at the Cleveland County Election Board Office located at 641 E. Robinson, Suite 200, Norman, and at all tag agencies, post offices, and public libraries in the county. Voter Registration Application forms are also available online at www.elections.state.ok.us orwww.clevelandcountyelectionboard.com.

Individuals who have never been registered to vote before or who are not currently registered in the county of their residence, or individuals who need to change their registration information may apply by filling out and mailing an Oklahoma Voter Registration Application form in time for it to be postmarked no later than midnight Friday, March 7, 2014. Completed Oklahoma Voter Registration Applications can also be dropped off in person at the Cleveland County Election Board until 5 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014.

Eligible voters who would like to request a mail absentee ballot for the 2014 City of Norman Municipal Election should apply now. The deadline to request an absentee ballot for this election is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Absentee ballot application forms are available at the County Election Board. The forms can also be downloaded and printed from the Cleveland County Election Board website,www.clevelandcountyelectionboard.com. Absentee ballot application forms may be mailed or faxed to the Cleveland County Election Board. The fax number is 405-366-0209. Voters may also apply in person at the Election Board Office.

Once the voter’s application is received at the Cleveland County Election Board Office, a ballot will be mailed to the voter. At least two mail transactions must be made. The County Election Board must mail the ballots to the voter and the voter must return the voted ballots by mail. Ballots must be in the hands of the County Election Board by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
