Well, we survived May 2013. The tornado debris from May 18 & 19 is getting picked up and the flooding from May 31st repairs are scheduled. Now it is time to start some much needed and anticipated road work on SE 14th. Thanks to the work of Oklahoma City Councilman Pete White, Oklahoma City has approved over $1 million in material cost. The project area is from Sooner Road to Midwest Blvd and Post Road to Choctaw Road on SE 14th Street.
Sooner Road to Midwest Blvd is getting a 1″ asphalt overlay of Super Pave. The road base of this stretch is in good shape. The 1″ overlay is used as a sealant.
The five mile stretch from Post Road to Choctaw will be a total reconstruct.

What will be the finished product be on se 149th between choctaw rd and Anderson rd?
Oklahoma City, Cleveland County District 1 and Norman are cooperating in this project. We are reconstructing from Choctaw to Post Road. This requires re-stabilizing the road bed and applying 5″ of asphalt. The road will remain the same width. We are clearing the right-away and ditches.
When will the road work be completed on 149th between Hiwasse & Choctaw Road? Why would both 149th and 96th both be tore up at the same time leaving no direction for those that live off of 108th to go except for 10 miles out of the way? My windshield has also been cracked from a flying rock by a work truck on 149th. Who do I contact about this?
Thank you.
The roadwork will be finishing up the week of August 23rd. We are sorry about the inconvenience. Because of the weather it just happened to work out that way. The construction on 149th was to start in June. As it worked out the construction was more efficient. Norman’s asphalt crew is also laying the asphalt on 149th street so moving the equipment once for a 2 week period is more efficient.
