We used a new road stabilization process with a Portland cement wet slurry solution by Oklahoma Cement Solutions. Previous stabilization process was with dry products like Portland cement or Class C fly ash. This new process is better for air quality and can be completed in less time and less labor intensive. The road is available to drive on within minutes rather than hours and days. Road stabilization products are in form of compaction aids, binders, and water resistance improving. Chemical stabilization technologies consist mainly of adding an alkaline binder, which is a reagent containing calcium oxide (CaO), for improving the geotechnical properties of soils.
Below are pictures showing using Class C fly ash or CKD for soil stabilization and the new Portland cement wet slurry method.
Benefits:
- Time of construction
- Water usage
- Maintenance on equipment
- Workers long term health
- Reduces dust in the air for better air quality and the environment
